Battery Power

  • How can I extend battery life in my mobile computer?
    • If you routinely need maximum operating time from battery power, choose a non-Windows® mobile computer. Windows® requires a more powerful processor, more memory, a more sophisticated, color display - generally it take more power to run a Windows® device.
•Turn off the backlight or severely limit its 'on' time. The backlight requires energy to light the display.
•Do your work in batch mode and upload data less often. Wireless LAN requires power to energize the radio.
•Turn off BT and GSM/GPRS/EDGE communications. Like wireless LAN, these are radio communication technologies that use battery power.

If you need to simply maximize the hours of work with your mobile computer, carry one or two extra charged batteries, and keep used batteries on a charger. The CipherLab multi-battery charger is great for keeping your batteries fully charged.

All CipherLab mobile computers provide data protection while changing the battery. That way you can use all the rich features of the mobile computer throughout the shift without worrying about running out of power.
