Search Tips and Tricks

Below are some useful tips to increase the accuracy of your search.

»Search Menus
Conduct a search selecting from the Category, Product, or Resource Type drop-down menus, or enter a keyword. To futher narrow a search, use all four search options.

»Quotation Marks
When conducting a search for bt scanners, be sure to enclose the phrase with quotation marks: "bt scanners"

Phrases enclosed with quotation marks produce results for items classified as both bluetooth and scanners. A phrase without quotation marks returns results of scanners that are not bluetooth, and bluetooth devices that are not scanners.

Choosing the right keywords are important to finding the information you need. Begin with the obvious - if you're looking for general information about mobile computers, a search for "mobile computers" will produce the desired results.

However, to further narrow a search, it's advisable to use multiple keywords. For example, if you are searching for a specific accessory for mobile computers, entering relevant keywords is encouraged: "mobile computers" "modem cradle"

Results of this search will return modem cradles used for mobile computers.

»Exclude Common Words
It is unnecessary to include common words such as "and,"or," or "with" in searches. For example, if you are looking for information regarding wireless and RFID and mobile computers, entering: wireless, RFID, "mobile computers" will return desired results.

All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case. For example, searches for mobile computers, Mobile Computers, and mObile ComPuters will all return the same search results.
